Baby possum orphan rescue

Sadly, but a natural occurrence, a large Coastal Carpet Python had taken the mum of twin joey, back rider, Ring Tail Possums. Too young to fend or feed for themselves, we were called by Noosacare Carramar in Tewantin to catch the Joeys.

On arrival the staff had managed to catch one of the joeys that had fallen but the other climbed to the top of a tree.

With silence and precision, trainee Rescuer Jarrah did a fantastic job securing the second Joey.

Both Joeys now able to be cared for by the wonderful staff and volunteers at the RSPCA's Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre at Eumundi
