Mother duck and ducklings make a home at the Sofitel

We received a call about a mother duck and her 7 ducklings that had made themselves at home at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort.

We needed to rescue and relocate the adorable Pacific Black Duck family as the ducklings were finding their way into the pool filter and were also in danger of being accidentally injured as they were so small and delicate roaming amongst the guests.

After catching mum we were able to scoop the ducklings out of a smaller pond (they are incredibly fast underwater).

The adorable little family was safely relocated onto the Noosa River.

If you have a pool and are going away please cover your pool or create a ramp (piece of timber etc) therefore allowing wildlife to exit the pool and prevent them from drowning.
